as previously noted, viable clean technology exists. it is up to the rich guys to implement this new technology. (solar/glass panels) and up to the scientists to continue to improve on the existing design.Originally posted by the Bear:you think so?

with this new technology that can be fitted on buildings at the moment, we can cut down a lot on pollution.
if technology is high enough that an aircraft is powered electrically, this panel can be used to power it.
come one day, we will have no use of crude oil anymore, because everything is "green power". and any mention of the use of crude oil or coal for power or propulsion or any uses would be deemed as "barbaric".
if technology is high enough, mankind can colonise star systems, and even if a planet is destroyed because its star expires, mankind still lives.
therefore, i believe that everything can be solved with technology.
the downside of increasing technology is the ever increasing lust of man for wealth and power.
mankind will always continue to invent something new to kill itself more efficiently. -

however, that does not mean that technology does not provide a way. -

be aware, know... and to have the courage to want to change.. to get others to know about the need and the ability to change...
with that, from ground up, we can change.. because ultimately, politicians work for the people, not the other way around... and if we can remind them of that, and keep them on their toes, give them a hard time, they will make the correct decisions..
the global situation is like a giant Prisoners' Dilemma... where if all make the correct decision, all gain... if one screws the others, he gains and everyone else is screwed... and if everyone attempts to screw everyone else, all will die...
