  Thinks..... [by David Lodge] - witty intelligent novel, farni twist
  Shanghai Baby [by Wei Hui] - story of love, sex n self discovery, kinda explicit but still quite nice
  Riftwar Trilogy [Raymond E Feist] - Magician, Slivertorn n Darkness at Sethanon, 3 books that made up the riftwar saga. spawned the classic rpg "Betrayal at Krondor"
