I am uncomfortable of the recent Channel U new reality show, Hey! Gorgeous. (http://u.mediacorptv.com/hey/).
From their website, (09July,11:22AM)
"Incorporating online voting with reality voting, Hey! Gorgeous is a talent scouting programme that scours SingaporeÂ’s tertiary institutions for students blessed with great genes." What GENES?! You mean, those without the so call "looks" have lousy genes!?
Shouldn't you feel angry about this? Forget about Beauty Pageants. Now the hidden assumption of "GOOD LOOKS IS EVERYTHING" is directly pressed on today youths!
Personally, I support DOVE campaign for real beauty. (http://www.campaignforrealbeauty.com.sg) I respect and admire their cause.
many teens starve themselves, become unhappy with your body, discontented... because the society (Society merely means, OTHER PEOPLE) thinks that beauty is such-and-such! I think something can and must be done for good, that is question the fundamental.. "WHAT'S WITH LOOKS!?"
You get my drift??? It's about what you are saying, that is LOOK IS IMPORTANT... is that accurate and correct?

I have always wondered why some people are scared of some stuffs like creepy crawlies etc. Its because since young, our parents have told us not to touch these stuff or... we know by instinct that its something undesirable? -
