  The problem with this is that it is hard to accentuate the second syllable. If pronounced this, I suspect that you're more likely to exaggerate the last syllable, which is incorrect.

  She's a Canadian artist, meaning she's from Canada. But the name itself is of Irish decent.
  
  The fact that she is Canadian has nothing to do with the way it is pronounced.
  
  Any name with "Mc-" or "Mac-" - the exageration of the pronunciation is always always on the second syllable.
