Checking lawyer's credential

In Singapore, how do you check out the background of a lawyer like if there were ever any complaints against him/her, past cases, qualifications, etc? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Have been looking at law society for the past week.
Haven't hire one yet. In fact, it's my first time hiring a lawyer. It's going to be expensive so I have to choose a good one and within budget.

and i swear by KHATTARWONG, they are one of the best in singapore.. -
I only have a friend whose dad is the best lawyer in his district.
And another friend whose dad is a high court judge.
But they are not in sg at the momment. Maybe only twice a year. -

btw, their lawyer firm is the most high class 1 i have ever been
they even ask you what you wana drink, got coffee coke, got biscuit sumore
and they got their personal library...

You gotta be kidding me. Subhas Ananda? He's going to kick me out for my case. I bet he hasn't got the time to deal with small time case like mine. He was previously with HEP right? Even if he wants to handle my case I bet I can't handle the legal fees, much less the initial consultation.
On a side note, does anyone know if any law firms which doesn't charge initial consultation? The first lawyer I spoke to wants SGD300 for the first consultation, no matter what! For my case he said he will charge SGD2500. First conversation talk about money... wah kaoz. I haven't even decide yet whether I want to proceed with him and then he asked me to bring cash SGD2500. First impression is not good liao... Don't think I want to go with him, even for first consultation. But then again, I have a feeling that all lawyers are like that, money first. No compassion at all. How do I find lawyers who are not like that?
Seriously, if you guys keep telling ridiculous jokes like getting Singapore No.1 lawyer, or getting Alan Shaw from a fictious drama, then please stop wasting precious time to post. and now shubas only charge me the price of an altis.. and he say i no need pay my ex lawyers...
and if i want..
i can file a case on my ex lawyers to pay me back the legal fees... -
heard there is some kind of free "legal aid" service, but u must meet some kind of criteria. U can search internet to see .

But seriously, Subhas? Yes I've read from articles that his rates are relatively lower than other lawyers for the same case but he usually handles high profile case. Even for your case he charges an Altis already....haha. I bet he'll take any case ranging in the 4 digits.

I heard that people's park area has lots of criminal offence lawyers around. Can try people park centre offices or people park complex or others buildings around there.

btw lawyers charge like that 1
consultation - 1 fee
getting up - another fee..
first day - another fee
second day or part there of - fee/day
OR
consultation + getting up - 1 fee
fight the case - 1 big fee.

7 years is maximum penalty or ur case has been dragging for 7 years? where the hell u get all the money for ur legal battle sia. u pleading guilty or claiming trial?
i think i'll be going lawyer shopping tml. seems like people park and chinatown point is out of qns. well at least if they're good, i don't mind spending the extra moolah. so anymore recommendation where i can look for criminal lawyers?

In Wildfire 3.0 how do you callout the &mp_mass of a part/assembly in a Drawing Sheet if the Drawing Sheet has multiple parts?
