Koh Samui

  Hi all, anyone ever been to Koh Samui here? Any recommendations of accommodations to book and what activities that I should die die try? My group of friends are aiming for a villa.Roughly hw much shoud we prep. for 3D2N or is tt too short?

  3D2N is sufficient.In fact its the longest u should stay there since not much to do there.

  it's a beautiful place.. but i can't help coz i went there many years ago..
  
  go there to vege out and enjoy the days of having nothing to do..
  
  i would like to go there again

  i also went there many years ago
  
  i remember there is a mountain/hill to climb and see the view from the top
  
  but the climb was a bit scary
  
  i loved the food there, cheap and fresh and nice...

  oh yeah.. it was long before i had a camera...
  
  one of the funny things was that in straight roads, the speed limit was 40km/h.. and on the windy hilly roads, the speed limit was 45km/h

  seriously, go there with no plans, nothing.. and enjoy yourself..
  
  it is one of those vacation spots where you go there to do nothing

  We also hit the mountains with a bare 4WD(actually a AWD)...and ended up stucked for 2 hours near evening.
  
  Frankly,if TS like to offroad,he can rent a cheap Suziki Carribean and hit the trails

  I was there very very very long ago and stayed at this resort. The water supply was from water tanks, so sometimes when you turn on the taps, a millipede will turn up. And the beach was kind of full of sticky icky crude oil, remnants from a spill I guess.

  Hmmm...okay.Thats cool, will definitely try an AWD. But what about flights there? How much do they typically cost? Any other carriers other than BKK air?

  its not a laughing matter to be stuck deep in the forest with the only aid kms away and no one nearby.
  
  I seriously do not advice AWDs unless you really want to be as in Lost

  You can buy a ton of firecrackers and set them off the beach. The rocket with the whistle type. Thats what I did They even have the type that spins and shoots straight up like a helicopter. Man, I nearly burnt my eyeballs playing with those at koh samui.

  I also went to koh samui many years ago .... got inspired by this chap's writings "bei4 bao1 zhou3 tian2 ya2" series ....
  
  I hear it's another phuket now, and worse ... so I dunno .....
  
  just note that the monsoon season is the reverse of phuket's ...
