i feel they are damn inflexible.
its for charity and a once in a blue moon thing.
frankly, it is high time we lift the ban on dialect programmes.

I seriously dunno WTF is wrong with our govt and Mediacorp..wouldn't it be better if we are all multilingual? Probably the govt only want us to be bilingual..English and Chinese only strictly..Originally posted by dragg:i feel they are damn inflexible.

Don't you know the govt controls every god damn stuff in Singapore? Remember our govt saying they wanna privatise a lot of business? YES, it's privatised..but SO WHAT? They ask their Temasek Holdings (Govt's stock investing company) to buy shares in these major privatised companies..and they not only purchase like, for example, 20% of the total share..they, instead, buy enough share to control the company..eg. 51% of total shares..so on the surface they look private, but they are actually controlled by Temasek Holdings which in turn means they are controlled by the govt..

some years ago, SP did not deduct from my GIRO the monthly utilities bills .. for about a year or two.. it was reported in the paper that they had some computer problem, Then I lost my job and used up all money in my bank account. It was this time that they realised their mistake and demanded payment or face court action etc... naturally cannot afford to pay upfront and ask for installment payment. No can do, see MP , MP say privatise they cannot do much .. must pay .. or face consequences ... my light was cut and water supply reduced ... IF it is not privatise, do you think they dare to do that ?? -

That's why textbooks talking about political systems states Singapore as a Semi-Communist State..which is damn true..talk about LHL, LKY or ANYONE in the Govt. and you get hauled off to jail..

I love this place .. I don't even allow people to say bad thing about it .. I alway hated malaysia as they seem to be always bullying us .. I boycotted them for many many years ... now I found malaysia seem to be a better place in turn of living standard ,, considering in Singapore we also live like a second class citizen as compare to the rich ... is bahasa indonesia also banned in Singapore?
WTF ban cantonese? cantonese is the official language in hongkong and macao loh...guangdong province is also cantonese speaking loh...i been to guangzhou and shenzhen before.
singapore is showing no respect to languages...
look at singaporeans, english cannot speak properly, mandarin also cannot speak properly...still wanna ban here ban there..
no wonder singaporeans got no culture.... -
