Beware calls from this 'investment banker'
OVER the past four months, I have received four cold calls from this investment banker and his assistant.
Their modus operandi is: A man with a Filipino accent will first call you up by name (not sure where he got the information) and will try to introduce you some investment products and will tell you that his boss will call you in a few days' time to elaborate.
I flatly rejected the offer but his boss still calls me up a few days later.
His boss, a man with a heavy British accent, claims to be an investment banker based in Hong Kong.
He will try to introduce you some investment products and if you reject him flatly like I did, he will shout vulgarities such as: 'You f******g dumb, piece of s***!!' before slamming the phone down.
This had happened to me twice albeit different vulgarities in both instances.
I have called SingTel and was told that there is no way for it to trace the call after he is off the phone.
Well, that puts us at his mercy. I wonder when he will strike again.
Oh Lian Chye
I had received such a call. I told him I was in a middle of a meeting but he refused to stop introducing his products. As everybody was waiting for me, i politely told him i am in a middle of a meeting and if he can call me back again. Instead, i received the same treatment as the writer. I couldn't respond to him as there were others in the meeting.
Anyway i couldn't even be borthered to trace the call but it makes my day lousy.
