After reading the news report on the capture of Mr. Richard Yong in Hong Kong, my colleague heaved a sign of relief and commented that the NKF debacle is finally over; and that all the money are in the process of being redeemed from the culprits.
However, is it truly over that all money due to the NKF are returned? I beg to differ. As I recall, in those glorious years, the NKF annual television fund raising shows offered ludicrous rewards such as cash rewards as an incentive for making a number of donations calls, and there was always the grand finale prize of a luxury car that will be offered to one of the lucky phone donors.
Should the past prize winners especially those who received a new car from the NKF fund raising shows return their “ill-gotten gains” back to NKF?
