  I thought the mooncakes for human consumption is only sold after the ghost month has ended. Those mooncakes sold during ghost month are meant more for praying and offering.

  if im not wrong....its placed at most getais or temporay temples as a "security guard" againts the good brothers. to prevent them to create trouble.
