No Serious... not that hollywood kind explode but the small type one...
I just now hor Take my big mug to drink hot tea leh..... So I put boiling water wah very shiok and nice... suddenly the mug exploded and break into 2 pieces... kaoz... my floor all wet..
YOu guys had such experience before? I this time 2nd time liao... -

you freeze your mug is it???
If you pour very hot water into a mug that is freezed or very low temperature... It will explode or crack as the internal wall expand faster than the external wall....

Did you use microwave? Cause its relatively common for these kinds of things to happen in a microwave, as compared to using kettle boiled water.
I am sure your glass did not "explode", it merely cracked loudly and smashed on the floor. Either you chilled the glass, and the hot water caused the inner layer to expand rapidly. Or your glass really sux. -

same thing happened to my cousin, only it was with a cold beer. we went to Outback Restaurant and he ordered a draught beer. it came in a big glass mug. the waitress brought it to the table and set it down and as he went to take the first drink the bottom dropped out of the mug. he was drenched with beer but luckily he wasn't cut by any of the glass. the restaurant gave my cousin his meal for free that night.

is it made of glass?
if it is, next time you decide to pour hot water in a glass, pls make sure it's not a thick one.
thin glasses can absorb the heat expansion much better than thick ones -

happened before.. dats y put boiling water muz put those with harder glass. those thin thin ones i only put cold water.

Just now hor wah at the office leh... the clock is like 10am... I took my only mug leh... go to the water dispenser... and stark to click on the pour button.... Tick tok tick tok the clock keep ticking.....
Kaoz you don't know lor... when I was about drink... TOOOO BBBAAA BOBOBOOMMM... Everyone in the office run for cover leh.... Kaoz Some say its terrorist... some say its osama sia... but all of us look at our muslim colleague ahmad! ... I shouted "EVERYONE ALRIGHT!!!???" There's this dreadful drench of fogs like you see on 911... We can hear people crying, coughing... and moaning... kaoz... was like abit crazy like that...
Suddenly I felt sudden pain... very painful... on my body... AARRRRRHHHHHHHH!!! HELP MAN DOWN!!! MAN DOWN!!! My colleague ran to me man... I hold onto Mary's Hand my secretary... "Mary... actually... I Luu...." She put her hands onto my mouth. She whisper... "I know".....
Then we found out it was the glass mug....and all the hot water spatter on my body sia.... Danger man...
