you should be there to see the child's espression..Originally posted by iLuVpOrKyPiG:we are advised to stand clear of the yellow lines.
it is up to the parents to be careful when kids step onto the escalator.
btw 10 mins arent too bad considering how big the airport is.
i am not saying its the kid's fault. they are too young to understand danger.Originally posted by manjieass:you should be there to see the child's espression..
yes its the child's fault.. but if he was not wearing that shoe, this incident may not happened..
still pain ma...Originally posted by xalkyrie:toe only.. last time got one boy half a arm went into the escalator.
agreed.. so parents!! pls take very very good care of your child no matter you're outside or at home!!..Originally posted by iLuVpOrKyPiG:i am not saying its the kid's fault. they are too young to understand danger.
it is not possible to totally eradicate such accidents. the best things to do is for parents to be more conscious of the danger when kids travel on escalators.

my friend, my wife and me was at T2's departure hall last friday.. then was on the way down to mac at arrival hall, the escalator suddenly stopped..
then we saw the father of the child (less than 5yo) frantically trying to get the toes out of the escalator..
my friend and i are police officers so our first reaction was to help the child..
i was thinking like of shyt pls not a crushed toe.. THEN I SAW THE CHILD WEARING THE VERY POPULAR NON SLIP SANDAL/SHOE (CANNOT NAME IT).. lucky, the 'NON-SLIP SHOE' was enough to cushion the toe from being crushed..
called 995 and they took a whole damn "10MINS" to arrive.. and when they can arrive, they can still "STROLL" to the escalator..
a point to highlight to those forumers who have kids..
PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD WEAR THE "NON-SLIP SHOE" AS THEY ARE VERY PRONE TO BE SUCKED INTO THE ESCALATOR!!!
AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME A CHILD'S TOE IS CRUSHED/STUCKED/SUCKED INTO A ESCALATOR BECAUSE OF THAT SHOE...
no im not.. im a police officer..Originally posted by newcomer:so you're a customs officer huh? just out of curiousity, how often do you arrest ppl for trying to bring in contrabands to singapore?

NUFF SAID..!Originally posted by newcomer:cisco?
cos its very rubbery.. thus it has more friction.. and its very soft.. so it is prone to be "sucked" in to the escalator openings..Originally posted by Cool-gal:i stil dun understand in wad way did the croc shoes cause so many accidents??
the shoes seem rounded and the finishing ok wad..
ha.. ambulance worse.. dono come how long later.. it was the fire engine which arrived first..Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Sometimes you must understand this, whenever someone dials 995 for an emergency ambulance, the actual response timing is 8 mins but due to some unforseen circumstances such as traffic flow, the ambulance will of course be delayed but from what I see, the FRP aka Fast Response Paramedic whereby those on bikes should also be activated...
Last but not least, the control operator will always despatch the ambulances nearest to the incident location but you must know that if the ambulance nearest to the incident location is out for call, they will despatch the next nearest so this also contributes to the slight delay in the ambulance arriving location
