I dont think those who bought their ps3 have to destroy it la.. Worse to worse sony terminates the ps3 product line, compensate all those retailers and destroy ps3 consoles that they still keep in their warehouse.
But that wont happen because sony will win, they are too rich and powerful to let it happen -

This is silly.
1. Why force a company to destroy all their chips if they can prove that they own the technology patents and they can get royalties of every unit?
2. This technology isn't something new, it's common sense. If this is the case, why didn't IBM get sued for those super computers they're famous for? The PS2 had this technology as well. Also, the 3 corporations investing in the cell had to research patents.
I smell a rat here and this news is being spread just to get attention. Companies that do this should have their business licenses revoked and fined the legal fees from resulting false claims of patent rights.

I'm thinking some big enterprise wants to bankrupt Sony and get them out of the market. This big business is paying out big bucks to disrupt consumer confidence by inviting smaller companies by paying them to fund Sony. Sure, these little guys might have something to make a big hoo-ha about, but seeing as how they would rather destroy technology instead of collect royalties makes me wonder what their agenda really is.
