set your purpose. You want professional stuffs? or just normal use like taking picture when you go holidays?
then set your budget.
Then "take" a few brand/model and do research.
Just search for forums about that particular model, check that you see alot of negetive comments anot, if you see many ppl say this model got minor problems or even serious problems, avoid it.
Choose a model that suits your purpose, affordable to you, and you dont hear alot of bad comments about it.
