I think they should seek compensation from those who sell it on auction... they are the one spoiling the market of those who trying to make a quick buck for themselves.

Even if you stream video off youtube or crunchy roll, also constitutes as a "download." UDP datagrams are still being passed through your cable modem, into your PC to be viewed. Hence its still a download.

OTOH, my point was that, some people DON'T need ODEX products due to their familiarity with the japanese language. And since ODEX deals with English Subs only, these people would not have incurred them any loss.
Now if there is anyone that ODEX can legitimately claim to be causing them losses, it should be the fan-subbers. They are the ones taking away their business by subbing faster and better than ODEX, and releasing it free. -

would they be able to use those IP and start profiling all our ministers and senior officials and dig into all their little dirty secret... like porn surfing.. secret swiss account... and other sensitive issues?
think how much a hold our enemies would have on us... if they found our PM IP frequent visit to a swiss bank on the internet... or maybe our health minister IP goggling all the porn sites... or our malay ministers IP making racist remarks in some forums....?
with hackers... they could easily hack into our ministers computer and start downloading all our top secrets!!... since now they knew which IP to target. -
time to switch over to pacnet. they're the only ISP who tries to protect their clients.

anyway since they lost that case, that means there's still a chance that the downloaders are actually innocent. i still stand by the message that we should not settle with them out of court. if they want then go court settle la.. but expensive =( just go court settle and hope court ask them pay for ur legal fees also.. big company vs individual shld b ok la hor.. plus its teenagers -_-

Singnet and Starhub scared of losing the lawsuit and money. They rather let the customer pay the money than themselves pay for the lawsuit. They are just irresponsible.
Pacnet has the money and know they will win as they have important evidence to prove. I like them. But their broadband is expensive. -

Although Pacnet has won this case and district Judge Lau denied Odex the court order, he has warned that the right to privacy was no defence for copyright infringement.
So before we know it, even pacnet may be forced to reveal those 1000 people who have downloaded anime.

Imagine 1000 people paying $3000 each... that amounts to $3 000 000 already!
If Pacnet reveals the 1000 people, including the 1000 people that starhub has revealed. That means 2000 people!
Even if it's only $3000, they still get $6 000 000! And if it's $4000? $5000?
So what if one or two or even a few of them gets to waiver the whole fine?
It's still a lot of so called "compensation" !
Just voicing out what i feel.
