In Singapore, there is an elite society selected by the very original founding elites of the nation. They head government ministries and a vast pool of government-link corporations.
They are there, highly paid, supposedly on merits. Absolutely fine if they are richly rewarded for having supposedly done a great job. But like every other job in the world, things do go wrong. Things did go wrong, very wrong sometimes. But a lot of them stay in their job almost eternally. They are the most protected bunch of people in the society. Richly rewarded, no punishment.
Referees in England seems to be the equivalent of our elite society.
What Rob Styles did today against Liverpool deserves a life-time ban from refereeing another top flight match.
But it won't surprise me at all if he is seen taking the helm at Old Trafford when Arsenal visit Manyoo later this season.
I'll pray for him to gift-wrap a goal to us like what he did for Chelsea today.
