  That's the feeling that most people get because most things that get made in India are nor "tangible". Its not like products made in china (like clothes, food, shoes etc etc) that you get to use & feel everyday.
  
  E.g: umpteen number of software platforms get developed in India, heck, probably the software in your Nokia phones were written by some indian dude in India, thousands of websites get developed in India, Hospitial management software, airport control software......all from India again.
  
  And for those of you who are "hardware" oriented.....did you know that the latest ford cars are assembled n India, or the latest Benz cars are assembled in India? How about Intel processors, going to be India again.

  my company used to outsource certain pieces of development work to India, but they quickly stopped ....
  
  why ? ... cos quality was not there ... it was talking more time and costing more in tech support and trouble shooting than it was to do in house ....
  
  they appear to be pretty good at sales and selling themselves, but the execution is another matter ....
  
  it's interesting to note that almost all the assorted articles about bollywood, the Indian software industry etc, in the NYT, or national geographic etc, were all written by Indians .... check out the writer's name in the Nat Geo article about bollywood from a little while back ...
