Getting to Singapore Bay Run

Is there any kind of transport arranged like the Singapore Marathon?
Or really have to take cab?
I very poor, take cab means must eat bread for 1 week.... -

sleep there over night
wake up
run
wait lucky draw
home sweet home
or come to Block 5 near kallang MRT station
watch soccer
then warm up along kallang river side park till reach floating platform
