The Bollywood beauty, who launched her career in the UK by appearing on the notorious reality TV show earlier this year, is apparently signing up to the next as-yet-untitled Bond film, dubbed Bond 23, to be Daniel Craig's leading lady.
According to sources, it's Shilpa's huge fame in Bollywood that's helping her win the part, as Bond producers think casting her will make sure the movie does well in Asia.
"Shilpa is having secret talks with the top brass who are working on the next movie. As far as they are concerned, she has it all - she is beautiful, fiesty and a great actress," a movie source revealed.
"But they also want someone who is a big star prior to the film, which Shilpa is. She has a huge following in Bollywood as well as a number of fans in the Western world - especially in Britain - so she will be great for the box office sales."
The filming of Bond 23 is likely to begin early in 2008, once production on Craig's second Bond movie - with the current working title of Bond 22, is completed. -

Shilpa Shetty is one of the longest survivng Bollywood actresses....more than a decade..which i think is very rare for lady celebrities in a glamour position...
Is also amazingand well known how well she has maintained her beauty. she looks almost the same as she was a decade ago..
she has been around since 1996, acted in a couple of Bollywood movies some memorable, most of them forgettable..until recently her name is everwhere ..like famous.. -

New Delhi, July 18: Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, who attained international fame with her success in a reality television show, is surprised at being chosen for an honorary doctorate by a leading UK university.
The 32-year-old, who became the youngest Indian actor to receive the honour from Leeds Metropolitan University, felt it was a "huge honour" to join the ranks of Yash Chopra, Amitabh
Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
"It came as a huge surprise to me as well. But I was really, really humbled and I accept it. I don't know how to react," she told a TV channel in London on being chosen for the honour for her outstanding contribution to cultural diversity. -
