because america and china dont want to adhere to the kyoto protocol.Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:not that i didn't see the actions taken. but i find it slow with the rate our earth is heating up.
and i think govts actually have enough funds to do more.
i remember there was something regarding the buildings in sg to be made more environmental friendly, and that's gonna take quite long i think.
must care about global warming.....pple says we can live longer nowOriginally posted by Vigelic:because america and china dont want to adhere to the kyoto protocol.
oh and because american presidents always dont wanna do more than the term they are serving.. for example they are elected president for a term of 6 years.. then they are given a plan to improve earth's climate but it would take 12 years.. do they think they'd bother? No.
In Singapore, I'm sure they have funds to do it.. but the average singaporean is more concerned about other issues like education, work, money, etc. so who do u think is going to care so much abt global warming?
of course pple care to a certain extent so the government just has to do something.. but not go all out to combat it..

lol...Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:reason is the richs will not be bothered about such things. because they can afford to live in air conditioned homes. so the heat will probably not affect them.
but then, if dont have this concert, people also can't get the message? maybe they wanted to spark controversies, make ppl talk about it to get more attention?Originally posted by polarsnake:I don't think Live Earth really did help much. The event itself to some was more significant compared to the message that it was supposed to convey.
The idea behind Live Earth is good I would say..but this is the kind of good ideas that are never going to work out..Originally posted by zanemiller:but then, if dont have this concert, people also can't get the message? maybe they wanted to spark controversies, make ppl talk about it to get more attention?
the fact that we are TALKING abt live earth means it worked -_-Originally posted by alleggerita:The idea behind Live Earth is good I would say..but this is the kind of good ideas that are never going to work out..
Inviting well-known artists to perform at Live Earth Concert to raise awareness? Impossible..because I think most artists will only treat the event as a way to gain publicity..and to the audience, they are only there to watch their favourite band/singer's perform..and after the whole event? Leave a mountain of rubbish at the scene..horrible..![]()
It might actually be the case that global warming would cause our part of the world to rain more often. I'm just guessing.Originally posted by FireIce:where warm?

don't always wait for the superpowers to do something. we are also living on this earth, every little bit counts.Originally posted by dahliamorie:Singapore is too small to cause an impact on both global warming and trying to save earth.

if it is the heat tat affect, it wont be a topic for world leaders to discuss...

Global warming may cause a climate change that may probably wipe out human racescientist stilll cant confirm
Why would "TALKING" about the Live Earth concert meant it worked?Originally posted by Vigelic:the fact that we are TALKING abt live earth means it worked -_-

yea.. national geo and discovery channel did say it's fiction.. because of the time frame.. as in everything happen too fast in the movie.. ice age will not happen in a matter a few weeks.. it happen over a period of time.. the fiction part is only the time frame.. the ice age is not fiction and it's part or the earth climate cycle.. if we don't do anything about global warming, there will be either one of the 2 ending for earth..Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Those in "The Day After tomorrow" after non-fiction.
