Im not in secondary school but just graduated from it. We do not learn abt the jobs of the politicians or so, but we do learn about the different parties in the PAST. How bills are pass, only a very brief info which covered a quarter of a page in the sec 3 social studies textbook but wasnt elaborated further by the teacher too. I think overall, we dont really learn anything that u have mention.Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:Hey just a bit of personal research I'm conducting -- Those of you who are in secondary school, do you learn about how the SIngapore government works? Like about how bills are passed and how they become laws, how elections work, the jobs of politicians and government officials, the different levels of government, the different parties, etc.?
So do you learn all about that or just some of it or nothing at all? Or maybe it's limited to a certain elective subject like social studies? Please post/comment/whateva. Thanks.

It's just one of several ways of arriving at that same conclusion.Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:Hmm I find it interesting how Singapore's education system fails to encompass the very important aspect of how the country is run. I guess that the government wants to keep citizens in the dark about political workings. How very corrupt
