  hi everyone, doing a proj, getting a general sentiment about mp3 players. do u guys own one and if there is an mp3 player with specs far better den ipod will u guys buy?

  oh hmm yeah there is actually this mp3 player clix which is better den ipod in terms of features n sound quality. but i was told mp3 has no market here because it is already very saturated already. most people own one n would not spend money on another one even if the sound quality is better. handphones nowadays come with mp3 function as well.

  yeah but it has video functions as well. i mean i am doing a project based on that, my lecturer told me that singapore has no market for it already. n nobody would pay $ for another mp3 player which serves no purpose at all.

  i will only buy other brand than ipod nano if it is-
  
  slimmer than ipod nano
  thinner than ipod nano
  better sound quality than ipod nano
  very user frenly
  can locate songs easily
  more features than ipod nano
  
  i tink even if the price is more ex, ppl will still buy

  In the earlier days where music was played through vinyl records, people asked the same questions. Which player is better ? Than came cassette tapes. And the same questions was asked. Right after cassette came along the Audio CDs and so on.
  
  As for your question, it really all depends on your budget, your function preference and etc. No product made has been catered to any one individual. And so, I guess the one that displayed love at first sight, may be the one for you.

  I own 1. It's not n Ipod and in terms of sound quality clearly more superior to Ipod. Costs lesser too. It's Cowon iAudio's F2. Even comes with a built-in radio!

  Where did you hear MP4 from? If MP4 is analogous to MP3, it is impossible as MP3 is actually an audio layer codec for MPEG-1 video (MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 hence MP3).

  Anyway, I think that mp4 is not really came to a standard yet... it still in trial but some phones are using it for recording purpose liao.

  i can easily point out which brand has a better sound quality from ipod.
  ipod is only for its design.
  i never like ipod.

  Compare it with the time u are actually playing music and think wheter a video function is really that imporatant ...
