Let this be a warning to all . If you are a novice model maker , its best not to do the Titanic model . Well , for mine , it is from Academic (forgot scale) . However , without proper tools such as side cutters & modeling knife , it is very hard to get small and fragile pieces out intact. I broke alot of it while doing mine.
But now i got a few tools, a knife (engraving knife) , side cutter and a tape . I have some other tools as well . Total cost for the tools only , is almost $90.
The knife alone cost well over $30 .
Another thing u certainly need , is a good file. Titanic model (using mine as a reference) is a tight fit. Without filing , there are remaining plastics left from the sprue. Then the model won't look nice anymore.
Oh yes , my Titanic model came painted to the exact colour , hence eliminated any need for painting.
Maybe you can try the Academic one the next time.
