Different people like different humor. I appreciate you taking the time to view the clips and writing your feedback. Thanks.Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:My god...you have the humour of a six year old. I think I speak for most adults when I say that we fail to find someone falling over or getting called 'stupid' funny.
Yes, the sound is from Happy Gilmore.Originally posted by anfieldheroez:the first clip, 'u wanna fight old man,u want a piece of me?' or smth like tt,its clearly copied from Adam Sandler's movie 'Happy Gilmore'.
Yeah wld be a good idea
family guy was never meant for kids.Originally posted by polarsnake:I personally don't think that all animated sitcoms would cater to kids. I mean... look at family guy and the simpsons... naruto even... adults do watch them!
Thanks for your feedback.Originally posted by countdracula:good attempt, though not too pleasant on the eye....would be nice if you do it 2-d rather than the flat 1-d ...script needs strengthening, off hand i can figure a couple of people who can contribute, make it more comical and satirical.....
if you can't get it screen then do it via the net...youtube is a good way to start as you've already done, if it's good you'll get cult following and the rest is history....
I agree! The shows you list appeal to a great portion of the population, young and old.Originally posted by polarsnake:I personally don't think that all animated sitcoms would cater to kids. I mean... look at family guy and the simpsons... naruto even... adults do watch them!
South Park is what got me excited about doing an animated sitcom. The humour of that show will never be allowed in Singapore and that's okay. I don't want to do the exact same thing. I couldn't even if I wanted too.Originally posted by popmynutsy:southpark is way funny.
sg 1s? dont talk animation, see pck. u think its funny, its seriously damn stupid. the jokes the most make me smile, dont laugh. but for southpark, it is roflmao that type. so u want make funny, choose southpark style. but u probably wont make it to tv either. sg too strict on this thing. dont follow pck style, very very predicatble jokes.
Yes, a quick turnaround time would add to the fun. Odex, the IR, the Space Port, all topics around which humorous stories can be told.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:Singaporeans will only be interested in sitcoms if you can include the latest gossips in sg, politics stuff, ahbeng stuff and all the crude language.
But in sg, sure kana ban.

One thing about the way I do this animation is that is can be made quite quickly, so I could do it about topics of the last few weeks.
Good point. I hadn't thought of this yet. Thanks!
Well, its jsut proof that it can be funny dependin on how you do it or what injuries/trouble they get into.Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:That is completely different that's real life unscripted. This is a cartoon. Btw, I don't find AFV funny lol.
unfortunately end of the day you would sort of run into the bans, law and politics problems though.Originally posted by iskander:Yes, a quick turnaround time would add to the fun. Odex, the IR, the Space Port, all topics around which humorous stories can be told.

Thanks for watching and for your feedback. Once the pilot episode of Circus is up, I hope you'll enjoy that better.Originally posted by caleb_chiang:I seen the clip... it was boring...![]()
Slow down! I haven't even got a meeting with the network yet and already I'm banned and chased out of Singapore?!Originally posted by hisoka:unfortunately end of the day you would sort of run into the bans, law and politics problems though.
anyway, maybe can consider somethign like what the writer who got chased out of singapore did with his podcast except with animation. parodies of current events and such.
hmmz i think its brown or something
just warning you since you said you wanted to do somethign along the lines of south park. not saying you will get arrested but you will likely have problems with censorhsipa nd such. wanted to point it out so you can take note early.Originally posted by iskander:Slow down! I don't want to do anything offensive per se. I want to do something funny. The pilot episode of Circus, which I'll try to post tomorrow, is closer to the ideal. Once there's a budget, the overall quality will go up.
BTW I think Mr Brown is still in Singapore. He lost his column in TODAY, that's all I heard.
Current censorship in Singapore will make it very challenging to make a truly funny animated sitcom, but I think The Simpsons is a very funny show and that airs in the late afternoon.Originally posted by ArdusKane:The best humor is uncensored humor. That is why Singapore will never make it until the laws change (which it won't in the near future).![]()

better to think of it now though abit depressing then 1 year of hard work down the road you find yourself stuck at the censors.
on the other hand, i think it might be better to do an online thing instead with advertising for the revenue. either to earn or to cover cost. things to think about![]()
That's because you have the internet. The average drama-watching Singaporean couldn't appreciate this type of humour.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I love American Dad, Family Guy, South Park, and Beavis and Butthead.
Oh, I'm Singaporean too.![]()
