Jackson Centre in MacPherson to close due to road improvement works
In one more week, Jackson Centre at MacPherson, which has been in operation for 15 years, will be part of history. All food stalls in the centre will officially close at 7 am on September 24, after which the land will be returned to the government for road improvement works.

The land improvement works actually involve a pair of underpasses linking Upp Serangoon Rd to Bendemeer Road on one direction, and Serangoon Rd to Upp S'goon Rd on the other end, with the NEL tunnel running between them and a DTSS tunnel right underneath all of it. That explains why the NEL tunnel out of Potong Pasir runs at weird angles, making a detour around the proposed underpass site. -
