Norway and Canada have a new kind of tourism. Killing baby seals. They call it a 'sport'..

Not sure whether this is a sport or not but this has been going on in these countries for decades.
They basically club seals for their fur. They CLUB them (not shoot them) so that their fur doesn't get damaged. They specially look out for BABY seals, like the one shown in the middle photo, cos their fur is softer. And guess what, it is completely legalized.
The usual moronic reason given by the respective governments is that the seal's population needs to be under control and hence slaughtering of seals is OK. What they do not explain is the need to CLUB these seals to death, i mean if you want to keep the population under control just go ahead and shoot them. The real reason is of course the $$$ that these countries get out of selling garments made of fur. Its a shame and disgrace on the fashion industry.
Btw, for those of you who like to wear fur or support those fancy fashion labels ...................here is a wake up call...check out these videos and if you have a heart you will never ever buy any clothes made from animals.

what a shame if the government's plan is true.
skinning animals (what's more a cute baby seal) is inhuman. Hopefully, an animal activist group can raise awareness of this 'sport'.

Also, the main reason for killing now is ecological, as the US and EU had banned import of seal products long time ago. The demand isn't high.
The main reason why people are still killing in the cruel way is that local governments did not enforce their policies of shooting.
There are numerous activist group too against clubbing too but they reported that they experience blockage and obstructions by the local authorities. -

So, according to this moron, people who respect and display a sense of responsibility towards the welfare of animals, wildlife or the environment are people who are "trying to find some purpose in life". It's because of 'tradition'......
The hardest things to change.....
Like Spanish matador......they say it's sport/ tradition/ culture.....so things like that....more resistance towards change.....
Maybe....any such animal-movement should come from the inside.....the insiders....I do hope they can realize their ways and be more loving towards animals....
