I think there is no need to undermine Cum On My Face, simply because of his nick.
He makes a valid point about white superiority, and i would like to add that it is right that in Asian culture, OT is seen as a good thing, whereas in some other countries, personal time is more important.
I can relate very much to this OT thing, because since young, people have been telling me that it is important to do your best, results are not important. This probably breeds a mindset whereby effort is more important than result, thus, it's better to stay and do OT than finish work early and go home.
Whereas in places, notably France, pushing for longer work hours will bring about violent protest and riots. These people really treasure personal time more than, say, Singaporeans. -

I, and many others I believe, had the notion that s'pore (and thus s'poreans) was an efficient country, where things get done.
No doubt about things getting done in our pragmatic society. However, at what cost?
Working with a good proportion of ang mohs now, i've come to realize that they are often somehow very efficient. It was the reality of what i'd had been told in sg about 'working smart'. They are not efficient because of their superiors, but rather it seems to come naturally. they finish quick and have time to chill. and yes, they know very well how to play and have fun.
On the flip side, when i was in sg, 'efficiency' was about getting stressed up, being pushed by superiors, subtle threats of loss of free time, OT, bonuses. S'poreans had to be pushed and dragged. I know this is a generalization.
To summarize, it looks to me that ang mohs can get the job done efficiently in a non-stressful environment and yet be able to joke and have fun, while s'poreans have to slog and get worked up. Don't appear serious enough and you put your job in peril. -

I believe its a culture differences between the west and east in term of employment relationship, for them hire and fire is quite normal, they are more professional, they feel nothing wrong with firing people, and those fired, will take it professionally like an everyday chores. But in our culture, firing is a sad and very emotional issue, it could even bring shame to a particular person been fired. Depress may even set in, people here dun take it as easy as they do. Of course both side have their pros and cons. So, the ability to take risk, creativity, hardwork, smart working, individual characteristic toward work and society with networking is critical. -

Many Asians not just Silliporeans still carry this mentality that angmoh are superior. Can you imagine, even Asians think angmoh God is the real god! Looking at Asians, the worst are Hongkies, the Thais then Silliporeans.
Colonialisation, stereo-typing and working for white expatriates have reinforced the image that angmoh are better, superior, good sex, etc....
So, it is one thing to idolise angmohs and another to treat your own kind with contempt. Take SIA - it is famous for treating Silliporeans lousily. And SPGs who think the world of angmoh ones. -

True, i agreed, I met some stupid ang mos at pub and they said that they are the god descendent, not us, not the asian type, because Jesus is ang mo, so why we believe in ang mo god, so if you believe in ang mo god, you must listen to them. OMG, drunk liao, i nearly wanted to whack them, but me gal cannot lah, so I never want to talk to them. It's just terribly sad to hear of such stories. Our girls being called 'sex slaves'. Yet these SPGs still flock to them.
Observing the lack of respect for asians, it is mind-boggling that they are treated as gods and with 1st class attitudes esp. from our SIA gals. I think the service sector wont have to have "GEMS" if all service-providers were asian and all customers were caucasian. -

Ang mo is handsome only for a while, after that, they grow old very fast. And yes, most of them coming here are big bosses or talented expariates, but if you go USA or the west, you can see ang mo beggars seeking money from asian people, and many are mere workers living without saving. What we see here are the rich ones that are seconded to here. Why need their workers when we hv cheap bangala etc etc.
And also due to expose to much to movie and stars, in a naive state of we young sg gals mind, we thot we see a resemble of Brad Pitt or Beckham etc etc. so in a hallucination mind, we thot we see our idol or God, but no, they are just the same as us, or maybe even worst.
