  hmm.. i believe.. the issue on security concerns is blown out of proportion. Simply because the country is too big. So one or two major crimes would really make the country look utterly unsafe. But i mean there are also other constraints like the Msia police force is well. underpaid, understaffed, under-equiped and questionably corrupt??
  
  But when news reports talked about engaged fire fights between Msai police and some armed robbers, the robbers always end up being shot dead by the cops. So at least, the Msia police, at least when engaged, can really do a damn gud jod of making sure the baddies are shot dead.
  
  Hmm, if you noticed some middle urban neighbourhoods have on their own cordoned off roads leading into their estate and installed gates and road barriers. They imposed their own safe haven by hiring security guards to guard the gates. So local populace people are fighting back on their own initiatives lar.
  
  Anyway, it really rely on an individual's sense of alertness and street smart awareness of danger. That means. you got to watch your surrounding very carefully, be careful when you flash the cash in the wallet, and behave discreetly (i.e. blend in with the local populace and try nt to suggest you are frm SG), do not take shortcuts, and try to stay out the streets after 8pm.
  
  But of course, im a little concerned about the sexual crimes and assualts being commited. Like there were 2 cases of young girls (less or =10yrs old) being raped savagely? Hmm, well, if you really wanna be paranoid, i think its better to deter the female members in your family to travel to Msia? or at least make sure there is a male travelling mate with them.
