Reusage of medicine

  Hello . I have smth to ask . Erh , take for example , I was prescribed some medicine to take for my flu. However the doc say once I feel okay , dont take . My mum however , keeps the left over medicine. Then when i had flu again , my mum ask me to take the left over medicine . Is that okay?

  the packaging got expiry date right ? just follow it
  btw , i used to buy few dozen pack of flu medicine for standby
  
  and sometime they say medicine dont re-use , throw away got 2 motive
  1. due to long time , the medicine effect may be gone , the ''spoilt'' medicine may cause harm to body
  
  2. earn $$$ la , if everyone keep their leftover medicine , ppl go see doctor less , then they earn wat ? they depend on selling medicine for living , consultation wont get them much $$

  If it's antibiotics, then don't take.
  
  Google the medication name and see if it's antibiotics or not.

  if it is a syrup, i wont take it again once opened. if it is tablets/capsules(eg painkillers, flu medicine, i will keep it as long as it is not expired.

  believe or not , both syrup and pills my mum also keep. Just to save $$$ . But i dont think its safe.

  depends on packing. If only tablets and not in sealed packing(not the ziplock bag) then can see the expiry date.
  
  If not, if prescription is more than a month then you can throw the medicine away.

  i find it amusing you guys are willing to waste money on toto and 4d, but unwilling to spend 50 dollars on the rare occasions when you're sick.
