How to control spending?

I've spent too much money.
Most can be justified as they are for dying hair and clothings. What is it that I am bothered about is entertainment.
Just last month, I've spent like $200 on entertainment and I don't know how I did it.
Damn, Even though I'm working, I have to put a minimum amount in my bank so that when I'm schooling, I have money to spend.
And I still have a couple of stuffs left to buy somemore..

i think 200/mth on entertainment is quite ok wad not really too much bah

get a higher paying job thru going for courses and get certification for this and that....

differentiate wad u intend to buy into WANT or NEED
Want is that u can live without it
Need is taht u cannot live without it -
deposit your money once u get ur pay.

one way is to get another account then throw what you feel you can spend into that account. then only have atm card on that account.
this is assuming you no credit card. -
Set up a fixed monthly savings plan so that you automatically force yourself to set aside a fixed sum of money from what you can spare for the rest of the month....... There are some insurance companies that offer better interest rates than the negligible interest for savings accounts offered by most banks.....
When one has lesser resources at one's disposal, one tends to spend less!

my pay is automatically deposited one.
for me, usually entertainment cost is $200 within a month but now, its like $200 within the same week..
from a 4 digit savings, i managed to miraculously depleted half of it and more..
though my salary for last and this month have yet to be given out to me.. thankfully it comes out to exactly what i neeed..
but i still got things to buy... -
Do financial planning , see how much u need to survive through a month (least) , then add small amout that enough for you to SPARE , the rest go to saving part
the saving part , divide the remaining into 4 part , 3 part to saving account (cannot withdraw) , 1 part to those which u can withdraw.
Dont bring too much cash out ,if you go out buy something , just bring that much money , if you want spare , make sure you left about few dollar or cents from changes
Everytime before spending every dollar , think of this :
2ml i still got enough money anot
Enough to last for this month ?
Or you think it this way.
your setted daily allowance $5
finish it , you want spend more like another $3
think of tomorrow remaining allowance 5-3 =2
tomorrow you left $2 to survive through
Then u may want to cut down on spending

My salary is in the range of $3000+
3 months ago, I decided to open a new savings account to start saving money.
And now, I have only $600 left in that account.
$600 left from the $9000+. Where did the rest go? I spent it.
I dont own a car. I dont own a house. I dont have any debts/loans to pay.
Is my situation worse? -

nowadays we ( in general ) are more easily tempted to spend money. for me, i spend alot on food! omg wad a sin.. i can like buy a meal then buy 2 drinks then buy finger food. go out walkwalk with frens oso will buy food 1

Write down what you spent on. That way, you can feel the pain of spending.

this is what i do. i put 50/100 bucks and change in my wallet. i tell myself not to spend that 50/100 bucks notes. i dont normally do so. unless its an emergency. try it.
