Here's how the story goes...
In 1997, in Atlanta, USA, an university Business School Dean, let called it Dean A, were criticized by four of his school professors, known as the Gang of 4.
The gang alleged that Dean A was ineffective, unable to attract more sponsorship to the school, school declining reputation etc.
After meeting with the university President, Provost and the gang of 4, the Provost issued a statement hinting Dean A had not performed up to expectation and losing the confidence of his subordinates. However, they(President and Provost) fell short of sacking the dean.
After which, some matters happened to one of the professor in the gang of 4.
The business school actually underwent some period of turmoil. In the end, Dean A decided to pack his bag and resigned.
Any idea where he went after his resignation? There maybe a link with some of us...

Dean A is in fact Prof Ron Frank, ex-President of SMU. The American university mentioned is Emory University in Atlanta.
Very interesting to know after his performance in Emory, he still could go to become SMU President. Interesting. -

The gang of 4 professors actually seek his resignation by complaining all the way to Emory President.
One of the professor, Prof Sonnerfeld, is much more outstanding than him. Haha this is what we called Politics, even in university.
Currently, Prof Sonnerfeld is the Chairman of a Business centre in Yale University. -

This is actually a case study I learned today in my Biz module today. I was so surprised when I heard Dean Ron joined SMU as President. Oh ya did I mention that the current SMU President was also from Emory too. Hmm wondering is there any connection with Ron?

Prof. Howard Hunter received his undergraduate and legal education at Yale University. He was admitted to the bar in 1971 and practiced law in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia, before joining the Emory faculty in 1976. He was a Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Virginia in 1982 – 1983, an Honourary Professor of Law at the University of Hong Kong in 1986, a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the University of Sydney Law School in 1988, and Visiting Mills E. Godwin Professor of Law at the College of William & Mary in 1989. He is also a Visiting Professor of Law at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary.
