moral of the story is????????

  story:
  
  there was once a lady who invited some friends over for xmas dinner.
  and so she was making ham. a family tradition.
  one HUGE ham, stick it in a pot, put in oven, bake.
  she cut off the two ends of the ham, and stuck it in the pot.
  her friend asked her 'why do u cut off the 2 ends?'
  she replied 'i have no idea. it's a family tradition!'
  so her friend told her 'go find out why!'
  
  so the lady asked her parents who said 'it's a family tradition! that's how your grandma did it!'
  so the lady asked her grandma
  and her grandma said 'oh. because the pot i used then was too small to fit the whole ham in!!'
  
  SO!
  
  WHAT is the moral of the story?????
