no no, champagne is sparkling wine from the region of champagne in France.. If it's not produce in that region then it's called sparkling wine.. no sparkling champagne.Originally posted by airgrinder:shhh... dun suan me further leh... i already say i dunno wine...

r u trying to justify that idiot's behavior?Originally posted by M4verick:I've been to the Observation Lounge for drinks b4..I don't really like their service there..way way below standard..The waitress at Equinox are much better
nope, if sparkling wine is made outside of champagne it can't be labelled as champagne.. there are alots of winerys that produces sparkling in france but can't label it as "Champagne" by french law... Only one winery in the US is allowed to name their Sparkling wines as Champagne.. 'Robert Mondavi'.Originally posted by BadzMaro:All champagnes are produced from France. Any others are called 'sparkling wine' . But there are exception that makes the quality and recognised as champanges
But how is champagne produced? Is it by carbonating white wine?Originally posted by ben1406:nope, if sparkling wine is made outside of champagne it can't be labelled as champagne.. there are alots of winerys that produces sparkling in france but can't label it as "Champagne" by french law... it's like cognac.. you can't call a brandy 'cognac' if it's not made in cognac..
Totally agreed!Originally posted by BeautifulBetty:Those who have never been in the customer service will never know how much suffering or abuses these poor souls go through everyday. ...
Champagne is made with the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes.. The info on Champagne by wiki is a pretty good read.Originally posted by angel7030:But how is champagne produced? Is it by carbonating white wine?

My group got 2 bottles. If u get it from the promoter (attractive females in a black dress), they'll open it for you and pour the first glass. They do top ups too. If u get it from the lounge waitress, they'll do exactly the same thing.
There's this table, a late 30s guy, who order 2 bottles from the waitress. After their table finished the wine, he refused to pay the bill, claiming that the promoter did not served him. And bcos of this, he wants the lounge to waive the 2 wine.
The supervisor came and try to negotiate the issue but the man plainly refused and claimed he is some big shot and he know some senior people in the hotel blab blab blab. Think he trying to impress the 2 gals that were with him.
The supervisor and the accursed promoter, whom the customer claimed was not doing her job properly, were visibly flustered, as everyone in the lounge can hear what's happening.
After sometime (20min?) he then made payment, but kept complaining abt the service and the unfairness he received.
Sigh... If one can't even behave and respect others, what's the use of even if he has a "Dr" in front of his surname?

It's hard to judge who makes the best wines.. Esp when you are in Singapore. Drinking a Bordeaux in france will taste very different in singapore.. Each region has it's good varieties. NZ is best known for it's Sauvignon Blanc, Chile is known for it's Cabernet Sauvignon, California for it's Pinot Niors, Canada for Ice Wine, etc etc...
Chile is a new world producer hence the lower cost, labour in chile is also low.. Give it a few more years, Californian wine used to be cheap back some 20 years ago.. Look at it now, Australian and NZ wines are also slowly going up in $$$ !!Originally posted by angel7030:Ah, thanks for your enlightment on wines ya. Cheers.
How come chile wine is so cheap ya?
