hi all, i've always been curious....u know those red-carpet fashion shows in paris, berlin, tokyo and other famous cities, whereby the models strut out on the catwalk, dressed up in all kinds of very very extreme-looking clothes that you cannot see in your daily life?
as in, some of the clothes are very gothic-looking with some kind of 2m-long "peacock's tail" worn on the shoulders, or a model dressed up as an angel with the feathery wings spanning out 1.5m across, or with some models dressed up as an oversized pineapple with very elaborated headgear and outta-this-world makeup etc.....(these stuff are always shown on TV...)
what is the purpose of having these kind of shows?
is it for pure entertainment? or to satisfy rich people who have a fetish in elaborated dressing?!
because if you think in terms of practicality, people don't wear such kinds of clothes in their daily lives and if the purpose of the fashion show is for marketing the clothes, then who wants to buy??!!
would you go clubbing or go to work wearing a 2.5m thick fanciful-frilly dress with a 1-kg hawaiian headgear???!!!
from what i see, even actors/actresses in Hollywood movies don't wear these kind of extreme clothes in movies.
maybe someone can explain to me the reason behind this kind of fashion show??!!
