i think. =P
its hard ah. But i think everyone deserves a second chance to right the wrong. But second chance given to those that are not remorseful will just result in a second victim , and that time.. it may be too late.. may result in death.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:sigh.. its very grey area. if i put myself in the victim shoes, i'd say they don't deserve.
but if i put myself in the perp's shoes.. i feel victimized for an obsession i cannot control..

Ok, chill. Tell me whose fault is it that certain people feel a kind of attraction towards pre-pubescent youngsters?Originally posted by Nikar2:(hisoka)
u bloody little low-life possible paedophile.....having sexual preferences towards children is different from having sexual preferences towards animals / same gender.
paedophilia is ultimately the most unforgivable crime in the history of mankind.
one can forgive Osama Bin Laden for his acts but one cannot forgive a child rapist.
indeed, give me a butcher knife and i sure would love to severe the penis of any child molester/rapist and feed it to the dogs.
with these guys, we must be brutal.
this kind of crime is so hateful that paedophiles who go to prison end up getting raped by other inmates once they know of what crime he committed.
so, no.....child-porn related acts are unforgivable and people who commit them do not deserve a 2nd chance.
for me, i can forgive terrorists, i can forgive Bush, i can forgive MM Lee, i can forgive everyone, but not people involved in child-porn / molesting / rape.
these guys deserve an instant trip to hell where they get arse-raped by the devils non-stop everyday.
in SG, by just caning them, it's already giving them a 2nd chance, which i feel is too light.
GO TO HELL, YOU CHILD MOLESTERS AND RAPISTS!!!!!!!!!!
TO HELL, HELL AWAITS YOU, YOU MONSTERS!!!!!!!!!!
KILL ALL BLARDY CHILD MOLESTERS AND RAPISTS!!!!!!!
THEIR EXISTENCE IS FORBIDDEN!!!!
KILL!!!!!!!!!!!

So yeah.
I read what you typed..and it bugs me because i believe this to be true.Originally posted by limywv:they should be shot. they can control , it's only when they succumb to temptation will they commit such crimes....each and everyone of us is 99% the same, we are 1% in terms of our thoughts and actions
The point is, child prostitutes are forced to service paedophiles to earn money for the pimps. They have no rights and are ill-treated if they do not do what the pimps tell them to. They are nothing but child sex slaves. How can you say that is because that is their way to earn a living. Most of them are either kidnapped or sold by their parents into the trade.Originally posted by iveco:Clanedstine, are you implying that people who visit child prostitutes will attack innocent children walking past them on the street?
Although child prostitution is illegal, it is how some people earn their keep.
zzzzzzzzzzz....castrate already still can molest.Originally posted by :Child molesters should be given a second chance in society only after they've been castrated!![]()

calling people names wun help themOriginally posted by Zarks:anyone deserves a 2nd chance.. but we must keep reminding them by always calling them molestor.. then it will help them..
lol... just have these type of conversation with some1 a few days ago... I should have answered diplomatically... haha...Originally posted by Clandestine:A friend of mine recently sent me a piece she wrote on uncovering the depraved world of Child prostitution.
I read it and felt chills down my spine....especially the part where interviews were conducted with Child molesters who have been convicted and claim to have changed and are looking for a fresh start.
I then went online and researched on the psyche of these child molesters and this sexual fascination they have with children. In alot of the diagnosis, it is considered a mental illness which can only be curbed...not cured. This means there is a chance for relapse, given the right situation and conditions, and they might hurt another child. This disturbs me.
Do people with this "disease" deserve to be given a second chance?...
Do you think it's worth the risk?
This is true....name calling could push them over the edge....Originally posted by udontknowme:calling people names wun help them
extreme sadness, anger, embarrassment etc can cause people to do a lot of crazy sh|t
Well, very often i speak of such stuff not from personal convition but merely trying to be objective. I personally find peadophiles some what repulsive.Originally posted by Clandestine:I do not wish to slam your personal opinion on the subject matter....
However, for the sake of discussion...
Homosexuality is between 2 consenting adults who have same sex preference. Society SHOULD not have a say in what two adults choose to do with each other, to each other. I understand that you used "homosexuality" in this context as an example of how society's ever judging gaze is fixed upon many "grey areas"....but be carefull not to confuse readers that the two grey areas are of equal magnitude just because they are both grey.
A child(or a minor if you will) is not of capacity to make choices for himself/herself in the areas of love,sex,marriage...etc simply because they cannot grasp the severity and implications of these decisions.
Adults see themselves as people who are to defend a child and guide a child to being brought up in an upright and moral manner.
When a child is made to have frivalous sexual relations with other men for a source of income...by another adult....How is this not to be viewed as being a crime?
When an adult is drawn to a child's innocence, and finds a sexual need to be intimate with said innocence despite knowing that the implications of his actions will lead to self gratification at the expense of another human being's well being(mind and body)....how is this not to be viewed negatively??
Preference is a term used when people of intellectual, who are able to weigh out cause and effect and make decisions based on this, choose their preferred scenario. A child does not come under this category.
Originally posted by hisoka:actualy thinking about it, theres nothing really wrong with having sexual preferences towards children. It's not a crime, its just another different preference, abeilt one that society in general is not prepared to accept. (think homosexuality)
The only problem is they have no legal way to assuage that preference. but the same could be said of a person who likes say sm but is unable to find a partner who is willing. or even a normal person who does not want to patronise paid sex but is unable to find a sexual partner.
The main problem is the person gives in to the temptation and does the act of molesting/raping a child. But how is that different from a normal rapist or molestor or even a robber. The only real difference is the natural tendency of us to protect the young, but the reason why the person acts is mainly the same.
In that sense the risks are the same and the considerations should be the same. if you want to give 2nd chances or even just release the rest, you would have to release the child-molesters too.

Maybe , but through extreme rehabilitation process. Extreme meaning ... if it results in his death.. then so be it. If he succeeds in the rehabilitation process , then he deserves the second chance.Originally posted by Clandestine:Which is what leads me to the question once again...
With the risks involved, Do they deserve a second chance?
Maybe because they look sweet & innocent?Originally posted by 798:i think pedo behaviour is disgusting. why did anyone prey for little gers wif no boobs? as an adult to do dat on a naive gal who dunno bout bird n the bee, i find it is the sinnest thing on earth since kids treat n entrust adults n doing such thing on them is sickening.
