(i might be a mermaid)
Sometimes, I don’t understand all the hype behind online social networks. Touring around facebook, I realise that it complicates a simple element of relationship way too much. The number of friends does matter, the number of messages (aka wall posts) counts, the number of virtual activities one indulges in with online friends does show, its all too stressful. Relationships are based heavily on numbers and statistics. The more friends you know, the higher chance it seems of you being popular and well-liked. The more activities you join, the greater possibility that you are outgoing and active. Sadly, that is how people judge, focusing on the most superficial indication of a person. What binds two people together is the necessity for face to face communication, a peer into each other’s hearts and truly understands what each other pursues and believes in. Not the number of “pokes” or “nudges” you send.
