  Talent competitions, to many people's chagrins are highly popular to close friends and relatives of the competitors, thus news spreads quickly upon their side and one would easily say in Chinese ' yi chuan shi, shi chuan bai '.
  
  Not only that, old folks who wish to catch up to the society of the youths these days may watch competition themselves. And lastly, its the ratings.
  
  Dramas in Singapore earn a fair sum of ratings and thus get in a good amount of profit, but Talent shows, if good, can raise ratings far beyond Dramas sometimes, and because of that, Media corp would hold as many talent shows as possible just to gain popularity and money. That is my conclusion.
