NOEL Gallagher, the lead singer of Oasis, has played a cruel prank on football star Wayne Rooney - vandalising a birthday present for him.
The Oasis man was given a £2,000 ($6,000) tiger flame-coloured Les Paul Classic guitar by Rooney's fiancee Coleen McLaughLin to sign for the Manchester United striker.
However Noel - an avid supporter of bitter rivals Manchester City - did much more than just sign the guitar.
According to The Sun, Noel and bandmate Gem Archer, bought a tin of sky blue paint and repainted the guitar. They then used white correction fluid to write the chorus of Man City's anthem Blue Moon on it and other Man City slogans.
The musicians also wrote, rather unkindly: "Happy Birthday SpongeBob".
Rooney, who turned 22 last week, plans to put the guitar up for auction and give the proceeds to charity.
