I use dialect in sch for one whole day before...then everyone thinks i'm crazy

Cantonese
i can speak broken cantonese.
i learn from listening to parents, uncles and aunt speaking cantonese with each other. also from watching HK movie and tv series show.
i understand a little bit of hokkien after serving in the army -

yup
always listen to Dad and Mom conversing in hokkien.. eventually master it
canto, and some teochew words

Cantonese, can speak it fairly well but can't understand complicated words. Heard it from both my grandparents and parents, so eventually is able to speak it.

But canto in HK is kinda different.

My dialect is Hokkien. Grew up in an environment where family members speak it, so I know it naturally.

learn from listening to my aunties/uncles/ah gong/ah mah/papa/mama argueing whole day long when they meet every sunday -
i can speak many many... cantonese because my mum cantonese.. teochew because grand mother teo chew and have to learn, hokkien due to singapore culture, and its easy to pick up if u know teochew, and some broken hakka which i got my friend to teach

A mixture of teochew and hokkien, cant really differentiate betw the two.
Learn from parents and grandma. hear them say.
Can speak abit of hinhwa..(dono how to spell) Canto a little. -

Yes, quite fulent,
I learnt it myself, by watching how my grandmother suan my grandfather in the past.

hokkien, from parent, listen to hokkien song from small. My father always go to ge tai to listen hokkien song. yesterday charity show also got hokkien song by chen lei.
