Wah sei.. reading this sentence alone really makes me feel bad about myself..
See-ing how our elders have worked hard during the past and even thru the world war 2 and many of which are still working even till old age. I hope someone will stand up among all our elite politicians and start thinking of how to give our elders better life.
Funny thing is we Singaporeans are thrown into the cell or being fined when we post racist comments.. but we are being the target of racism in other countries and we take it with a pinch of salt.. Imagine if this is the other way round, 3 asians trying to bully an "ang mo" trishaw uncle, what would their fellow countrymen do? Maybe impose policies to prevent such things from happening? Maybe this uncle is just another uncle to be too important in the eyes of politics...

they didn't behave that badly in my opinion. from their point of view i could understand. it's just the victim in question was a pitiful looking old man, and i believe thats what causes all the vulgarities. they were polite, thanking the old man even up to the point he asked for 10$

Actually one of the points that made some people feel bad is because singapore has advanced too fast, how does that relate?
Since singpaore is advancing, senior citizens who are old now tend to work veri hard when they are much younger, even so, the tax are getting higher, and most of them have the mindset that they just finish sec school w/o degree or primary school and marry off, thus causing this
After that, when they do not earn enough, singapore is still advancing, causing them to pay more, earn less, making them feel morally depress, sad and angry
that is why some people who are old now do not have a good job, why did they get bullied? becos people from affluent countries look down on them -

These senior citizen are the ones who build singapore with the sweat and blood during their youth.
The skyscrapper and waterways,luxious hotels are the labour of the previous generation.
If anyone,be it a singaporean or foreigners cant show them the respect they RIGHTFULLY deserve then they have no rights to set foot on this island soiled with their blood and sweat. -

Instead of being angry when our senior citizen are being bullied,what we can possibly do is to treat them with respect and the same goes to our attitude and duties towards our parents when they are one day old like him. -

But that also does not mean that all 'whites' or Caucasians are 'bad' or 'rude' or what stereotyping makes them out to be.
I for one, am 'ang moh' as you guys call it. I call myself a Eurasian, and a Singaporean. Everyone is different. And generalizing a race/culture/community, is bad. Like, seriously. -
