Why parent don't understand?

Hi forummers,
When I told my mum I'll be doing some business she always look at me in disbelief and I always feel parents are the souce of their children success or failures in life
She always ask me to get a job and I explained to her jobs are not long term solutions but she always do not understand and keep on ranting and nagging.Many jobs pay are not really reflection of today's singapore standard of living, how to take those jobs up? -
Your family facing any financial difficulties?
Because, sometimes if it were the case, no parent's would want to risk into further debt.
Even though it is your business, you all are still family. -
Your parents only want you to be more practical. Going into business is not as easy as you think it is........ It also requires funds. You got the moolah? You're not planning to go into business and expect your parents to finance you, are you?

What, you prefer your mum to heck care about you?
I am thankful for my mum. Even though she gave me 110% of freedom, she nags a lot of times too. Without her nagging, I think I might be involve with something bad....
Besides, business is very risky. VERY.
Business may be good. But it will take you quite some time to break even. What happens along the way, something happen to you or the business? -

Then why can't you be more understanding of your mother's plight? Try to put yourself in her shoes and let me know what you think ok? Do you think venturing into business is that easy? Have you also really thought of all the preparations that you need in order to ensure that the business stays successful? By the way, nobody ask you to die die must take on a lifetime job. If you want to work in the same company and industry for one whole lifetime my guess is that you will be very inexperienced in other job areas. You can always opt to change a job every few years if you want (providing you have the qualifications of course).
There is also a chance of securing a lifetime job if you really work hard and be of great value to the company that you are working for. -

that being said, if you want to go do your thing, sit them down, ask them why they are so worried... which is: seek first to understand them... their worries and all that... after that is settled, you will find the part of being understood would be so easy if not already settled..
