We are only asking for names, so that we can best keep our distance from them, as suggested by you. We are not asking for stoning, but we do want to keep our distance and to avoid being conned.Originally posted by MSI see,

"Pastor's takings, lifestyle, mishandling of funds? - Don't judge." --> Don't ask question but just believe that the money will be handle correctly. If the pastor happened to be millionaire but he don't have other source of income, of course the money come from god.Originally posted by lagrangen:Christianity is not a charity. Tithes and offerings are given on one's own accord based on how he establishes his relationship with God.
The main purpose of churches is therefore, spread the gospel.

Why question where the money goes to?
Pastor's takings, lifestyle, mishandling of funds? - Don't judge.
If everyone think like that, then there's nothing wrong with corruption. Seem unfair to T.T Durai, isn't it? Afterall, where the money for NKF is not our business also, right? If you are not happy, just simply don't donate.Originally posted by noahnoah:it dun really concern me of how much pastors make

Organisations registered as 'non-profit' like churches and charity are taxed differently from commercial entities. Most don't need to pay tax or pay less.Originally posted by lagrangen:Christianity is not a charity. Churches don't operate like charity

Maybe it's coz she didn't believe in god.Originally posted by apples:I wonder why Mother Teresa wasn't as rich when she had more followers than anyone could imagine? I wonder why, as she was probably just many many times poorer than most church pastors, we see numerous wise and gracious acts and lots of wisdom from her words?
I suggest a read up on her, will be good.Originally posted by Phaze:Maybe it's coz she didn't believe in god.
I did.Originally posted by M©+square:I suggest a read up on her, will be good.
maybe it is not because she didn't believe in God. But maybe she was trying too hard to achieve things through human effort, therefore the burn-out. I still respect her alot..but for a woman of God like her to doubt Him can cause many people to stumble.Originally posted by Phaze:Maybe it's coz she didn't believe in god.
Er... she tried to achieve things through human effort because she realised that there was no god.Originally posted by lakopi:maybe it is not because she didn't believe in God. She found herself. And with that I think she won't feel so bitter. Even before it was made known to the public her doubts about a creator, I respected her as a kind lady, and would not hesitate to give her my support if she requested. Because I had no doubt it will be used wisely. Unlike some other organisations, in particular the former NKF.Originally posted by Phaze:Er... she tried to achieve things through human effort because she realised that there was no god.
She felt trapped in her role and she couldn't give it up in fear of disappointing many people.
She was hoping that if she just did a bit more, she would find god.
And she ended up bitter because despite all her effort, all her work, all her devotion, she never found god.
No, seriously, I agree with what some of them here say. It's their willigness to give, so when their money is used to pay for lavish lifestyles, its their choice, who are we outsiders to question how they spend their money?Originally posted by countdracula:i think anglican and methodist clergy are paid according to moe teachers' rate....other smaller churches pay less, mega ones like chc and the ncc are paid over the top......
Mother Teresa's motive preached the teachings of the god she wanted to strongly believe but yet reality seems to tell a different story. Regardless, her story, tells of a kind heart and pure motives in the name of goodness and the god she wanted to believe in. I also think it's so important that she tried and did something significant but fail short, i guess, in god's appreciation of her effort.Originally posted by Phaze:Er... she tried to achieve things through human effort because she realised that there was no god.

Yes but their tax exemption should be revoked as well. Only then should they be allowed to do whatever they want.Originally posted by crosshairs:No, seriously, I agree with what some of them here say. Just stay the hell out of my neighbourhood. And stop bothering me in the morning, I sleep late, work nightshift sometimes. And keep your hands out of my wallet.
Yes, that is absolutely everyone's right. And yet I think that choice is the choice of an ignorant fool, the easy way in things; that when I contribute to the churches coffer, it mean i am very willing to give.Originally posted by crosshairs:No, seriously, I agree with what some of them here say. There are actually questions about mother threasa. In the west, no one dared to criticize her because she was widely regarded as almost a living saint and no one wants to offend the christian right. This public image of mother threasa was created by, what else, television - a show called "Something Beautiful for God."Originally posted by crosshairs:She found herself.
