  depends, many times I don't check the change... just take and put in pocket... how to give back?

  Same here, no check change.
  
  Only for small purchases, like 1 item less than $2, one glance can tell if the change is correct or not. I will return the excess amount, or tell the cashier of the short change, while I am still standing there.

  normally when the cashier counting tat time me will count at the same time le.
  
  den if more, when she pass to me tat time, i'll hold the money and signal her to count again...
