Pardon me, I have few doubts in private schooling...
For those people who could not graduate well from N Levels, yet they wanted to study in private schools, does that mean that they will attain an O Level cert in private schools?
My friend told me that it takes about 3 months? - was that a fact?
Furthermore, my friend told me that only about 1 year plus is needed to achieve a diploma (as in those needed in Polytechnic, to spend three years getting) in private schools, for that fact -is that true?
If it is true, could there be an elaboration provided?
If it is not true, how does that diploma differ from the poly's diploma?
P.S. Then why should we attend polytechnic? Should we all move to private schools then?
~I signed up just to clarify this doubt. Thanks!
~EDIT: Sorry, I realized I have a grammar mistake in the title, it should be "System of Private Schooling in Singapore". I don't know how to correct it, pardon me for that error. ^^;
The O-level cert regardless of from where, is the type of O-level cert we take in secondary school. However, i don't think its 3 months only to attain an O-level cert. The person has to become a private candidate to register for the exams, and no matter what, has to take the exam in October/Nov. So I am not sure why ur friend say only 3 months to attain O-level cert.
For a diploma cert, for instance an mass comms dip in MDIS takes about 9mths to achieve it, provided u are studying full-time. But take note that the cert means little since its from a private school, and that whatever u are taught are very basic, and only scratching the surface. So for more in-depth things, try out the Poly route.
