His life was going to the dogs, so he decided to marry one.
A man in Tamil Nadu, India, married a female dog in a traditional Hindu ceremony last Saturday in an attempt to reverse a curse which he believed caused him paralysis and deafness.
The curse was apparently a punishment for stoning 2 dogs to death and hanging their bodies from a tree 15 years ago, reported the Hundustan Times newspaper.
Mr P Selvakumar , 33 said "After that ,my legs and hand got paralysed and I lost hearing in one ear ,
An astrologer had told me that the wedding was the only way to be cured."
He married a former stray named Selvi at a Hindu temple.
The bitch was chosen by the family members ,bathed and clothed with an orange sari for the ceremony
Afterwards, the groom and his family had a feast while Selvi got a bun.
It is not known if the grooms situation has improved.
