caffeine is a stimulant..
and.. caffeine is used to treat migraines.. migraines are due to blood vessels in the brain dilating... this causes pressure on the brain..
by taking cafegot which is the market name medication which is almost pure caffeine, the blood vessels constrict back to the normal size, alleviating the pressure and making the migraine go away... -

the word has been bandied around too much... sort of like influenza or 'flu

My reaction to coffee (which has caffeine) when I drink it in the evening will make me unable to sleep the whole night & at the same time my heart beat rate will go up. -

no wonder my friend who claimed he has migraine frequently said he needs to drink at least 6 cups of coffee a day.

Slightly off topic here but I almost always suffer a minor diarrhea whenever I have my cup of coffee in the mornings. Probably due to the caffeine content, I guess.
