How to survive with 300SGD bills?

Head that a 5 roomer HDB are paying PUB bills around 250-300 per month...
And after food and transportation , how to survive here? -
pub bills? max $200 for my 5rm flat

for me it's cause from young i sleep in an aircon room; open windows = get mosquito bite. close = stuffy. and when i get mosquito bites, the area immediately gets swollen. so till now, unless out of my own house, i'd sleep in aircon. =\Originally posted by beavan:more like don't turn off the air con.

If have till so many electrical stuff that cost 250-300 electrical bill - must be well off !!! -

well i say get used to non aircon. saves u ALOT of money. -
Mine's 4 room flat and cost around $230 even when not every night on aircon

What;s the bills like for 4 roomer without aircon just fan?

My family, electric bill at most up to $188, max, old five room housing. Very big.
The lowest we can go was $115. Average per month, $130-$155.
Is how you use electricity not how big is your house.

my bill.... water is about SGD3 for the last 2 mth.. last 2 yr never even pay b4.. so already consider alot now...
electricity .. about SGD150 for 2 mths... air con on everyday from 8pm to 8am 12 hrs....

computer on whole day?
tv on whole day?
water use like nobody's business?
keep on cooking?
room rent out to outsider(s) ; these fellows waste the electricity and water like nobody's business? -

why purchase a 5 room flat in the first place?
got a reasonably paid job but got retrenched / quit and become jobless? -

if i'm not wrong,
if household income (pple that are going to live in the flat) is no more than S$3k per month, and first time apply flat, can go directly to hdb to apply for a 3 room flat
not too sure though -
I pray that HDB resale price drop in 2009

wonder if any 4 and 5 roomers are single owners
