Hmm.. God Bless your friend's Soul!!... Awesome Dude!. Just for the record, i think yup it is so hard to extend a helping hand to someone in need. SOmetimes, Singaporeans (me included) really will be indifferent and.. our assumption will be like"Aiyah, someone else will help the fella".Originally posted by RETARDED_MORON:He gave manliness a whole new meaning.
I was walking with my friend at Raffles City today, and we spotted a blind man with a cane. Out of a sense of obligation, I simply remarked, "Wow, that's quite sad" and continued walking. Few steps later I realised that my friend wasn't walking side-by-side with me anymore; I turned around to see him guiding the blind man by holding his shoulder! He actually asked where the blind man was going to, and led him to the MRT station. Despite the trouble, my friend actually insisted on guiding the blind man to his destination, Boon Lay. Throughout the journey, my friend made small talk to entertain the blind man, who was clearly thankful. Yet all the while, I was simply tagging along, being no more useful than a mere mass of flesh.
My friend has undoubtedly gained immense respect from me, and I honestly felt ashamed of myself. I was comfortably blending into the crowd just like each person walking past the blind man indifferently, caring only for themselves and their important busy lives.
Now I think I really need to sit back, evaluate my life and do some serious reflection.![]()
