haah.. it is a ATM card.. Applicable as long as you are above 16... Can use the mastercard function in shopping centre and restaurant but online purchase not allowed.. I think movie tix booking also cannot use...

cannot...the card is as long as u got a signature based saving account with POSB..But if u looking for a full-fledged masters, might as well go get their debit card. The orange one..that one can make online purchases.

anybody who applied for their full posb mastercard debit card, how long did you take to receive it? i know it states up to 14 days but like to know if people received it sooner.

just like atm card nia, the diff is you can sign when u make purchases
you cant purchase stuffs online tho

POSB GO! card functions as a normal atm card, but it replaces mastercard because of purchases, maybe the retailers can see ur mastercard number mah its confidential.
it goes along with the mastercard too.
so u'll have 2 of this cards. im getting this once im 17

the debit mastercard werks like a mastercard but it deducts from ure account instead of giving u money to spare..

Actually the debit card function isn't redundant. Say you go overseas or maybe just to Johor, you can just pay using the MasterCard debit. No need to carry to much cash.

I prefer the ATM card to be PIN based, as I do not need or want a debit card.
Should I lose my ATM card, the finder need to break my PIN in order to withdraw cash. With the debit card, the finder need only to scribble to make purchases.
Sales assistants are notorious for being lax about verifying the identity of the of the card presenter. In fact they don't bother at all. They just swipe. If the card is "good", ie not reported lost, or over limit, they just process and release the goods. Therefore instead of withdrawing cash, the finder make expensive purchases.
The bank will hold you liable for all successful transactions, until the card is cancelled.
Good luck to you if you don't realise your card is missing, or you can't report immediately that it is lost.
You are at the bad end of the bargain with the bank on this. -

for those with posb mastercard debit card, if you intent to activate the card using atm do you still need to return the acknowledgement of debit card portion that comes with your debit card in the mailer?
