Anupam Kher, Shriya Saran and Tara Sharma are all geared up to share screen space with Hollywood stars Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives, Larry Miller of Nutty Professor and Sara Foster of Big Bounce fame. James Dodson, writer and director of Behind Enemies Lines 2, is directing this film, titled The Other End of the Line, which is made under Ashok Amritraj Productions.
Ashok Amritraj, Chairman and CEO of Hyde Park Entertainment, has produced box office smashes Premonition, Dreamer, Shopgirl, Bringing Down the House, Raising Helen and Moonlight Mile. With 25 years of a career as producer and executive producer of 90 films, he is the winner of a lifetime achievement award by International Film Academy in 2005 and Producer of Vision Award by the Hollywood community in 2004.
The Other End of the Line is a love story featuring an Indian girl working in a call center in Mumbai who travels all the way to San Francisco to be with her American love-interest (Jesse Matcalfe). Shriya Saran will be playing the lead role in the film with Anupam Kher playing her father.
Tara Sharma, who also stars in the film, says, "The Other End of the Line is a love triangle, which I am certainly not a part of. I play a very small but powerful role of ShriyaÂ’s friend, who works in a call center. Maybe, being in the call center, the other end of the phone line justifies the title of the film."
Struck by Ashok’s global vision of cinema, Anupam Kher says, “When he narrated this script about a cross-cultural love story, I was completely taken up by it. I wanted to be a part of it.”
